On Fridays, I would love to share something personal with you all. Whether it be a memory, a book I’m reading or a new obsession of mine, I thought it would be fun to let you in on what goes on around here. Today, will be an obsession to say the least!
I’m sure this comes as no surprise, but I’m a bit (understatement) of a planner and have a serious obsession with notebooks, agendas, stationary- you name it. I have to-do lists for my to-dos and the feeling of crossing something off of my list makes me so happy! The New Year always brings a sense of excitement and wonder for all God has in the store in the year ahead. It also allows me to reflect on the many blessings, hurdles and triumphs of the previous year. Every December I get so anxious to start planning and writing out my goals and this past December was no exception. I have always loved my Kate Spade planners in the past, but this year, with launching my business, I needed something with a few more bells and whistles. I did some research and ordered the beautiful Day Designer by Whitney English and I must stay, it. is. perfect!
In the front of the planner she includes 4 pages to help you get your goals and vision aligned for the new year. She then helps you prioritize your goals and helps you set realistic deadlines. These 4 little pages made a world of difference for me. Every week I can go back and look at my vision and top ideas for 2016 and see if I am on track. I’ll be honest- this past month has been hard. But slow and steady progress is still progress and momentum is building.
The Day Designer has month views and very detailed daily views. She includes “Today’s Top Three”, a to-do list, an inspirational quote and even a little part for “dinner” on each day. My absolute favorite thing about this agenda is the spot for your daily gratitude. I love being able to look back and see what happened, big or small, that I was grateful for that day. Whitney English did such a fantastic job designing this agenda! With her “Today’s Top Three”, I can stay focused on getting a few things done without feeling extremely overwhelmed by a long to-do list. I am also more apt to plan out our meals and stick to it! The Day Designer has allowed me to prioritize my to-dos and stay focused, especially when I’m trying to get as much as I can done while the precious little man is taking his nap.
The Day Designer is definitely on the pricier side. But, in my opinion, it is money well-spent!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
